The Races of ‘The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’: Five Years Makes One Hell of a Difference
As if you needed another reason to be insanely amped up for the release of Bethesda’s fifth installment in the Elder Scrolls series, today we have a nice little chart comparing the looks of the series’ main races between 2006′s Oblivion and the upcoming Skyrim. Five years really does make a difference, and seeing as how Oblivion‘s models haven’t exactly aged well I’m thrilled to see the improvements. Hit the jump for the full image, which throws in the races from Morrowind to really drive the point home.
It would seem Bethesda has finally nailed it. After taking a look at all the difference, I really feel I’m never going to be able to go back and play Oblivion again. It’s sort of like going back and re-watching the original Tron right after seeing Tron: Legacy. You still enjoy the experience, but you just can’t help but notice how dated it looks.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim releases on November 11th, 2011. November can’t come fast enough.

While I still believe Morrowind is Bethesda’s best game. Both it and oblivion haven’t aged well compared to the upcoming Skyrim. It’s nice to see that Bethesda’s finally answering the fans’ requests of having better looking characters. It’s pretty bad when the first thing people do is cover their faces with any in-game helmet they can find.
What class/race are you excited to play as?

I’m not entirely sure, most likely it’ll be a paladin-type human. Yourself?
