Awesomesauce: A Pixar-esque Justice League

I’d like to take a minute to relay a personal message to Warner Bros. I know you guys are rushing to get Justice League done already. You’re doing the wrong thing. If I’m more excited about CG artist Daniel Araya’s imaginary, for-fun Pixar-styled Justice League production stills than your actual in-development feature, something is wrong. Slow it down, and take the time to do it well.

That being said, these are some seriously awesome CG concepts by Araya, and they do a wonderful job of showing what could have been in Pixar decided to do a Justice League feature. Hit the jump to check it out.

This October, ‘Green Lantern’ Sees the ‘Rise of the Third Army’

The Joker Returns to the DC Universe With ‘Batman #13′

We knew today that Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo would be unveiling the villain of the nextBatmanarc today on the DC Comics Blog, but I had no clue they were going to be the ones to bring The Joker back into the fold. I honestly assumedDetective Comicswould eventually be returning to the character for Daniel to wrap up his plot thread, but that being said I am far more excited/happy to see Snyder and Capullo handle it. ‘Superman Classic’ Asks “What if Superman Was a Disney Cartoon?”

Another day, another fan-made piece of art that I wish was real. Disney animator Robb Pratt has created a short film for the Man of Steel, animated in traditional Disney animation style, and it’s amazing. I wish this thing was an actual cartoon, seriously. ‘Sailor Avengers’ by Ann Marcellino Is Some of the Best Crossover Art You’ll See All Day

I’ve always been a sucker for mashup/crossover art, it’s no secret. I’m also a sucker for just plain well-done artwork. Luckily, this is both. Artist Ann Marcellino has come up with a series of art featuring a very unlikely crossover: The Avengers with Sailor Moon. It’s quite clever, and very polished. Hit the jump to see the pieces!

DC Comics Reveals New 52 Volume 2 Hardcovers and Trade Paperbacks For Spring 2013

It’s taken a bit of time, but DC Comics has finally announced when the volume two hardcovers and trades for the New 52 will be going on sale: Spring 2013. Kind of ridiculous when you consider, looking at the list of collected issues, some of these titles will be wrapping up the arcs for volume two next month but oh well, that’s business.
