Gamescom 2011: ‘Mass Effect 3′ Trailer

August 16, 2011 Leave a comment

A brand new trailer has dropped for Mass Effect 3, this time showing off the newer-and-improveder combat. Shepard and the team are pulling off plenty of flanking maneuvers coupled with complimentary abilities that take down Cerberus goons in a fluid manner not seen in previous Mass Effect games. Seeing melee come from the enemy as well as Shepard should make for interesting new challenges. Also of note are the serious graphic improvements. While Mass Effect has always looked good, it has never looked quite so gorgeous. I’ll be interested to see how good I can make the game run on my PC, and how close to this the console versions will come.

Gamescom 2011: Suda 51′s ‘Lollipop Chainsaw’ Trailer Makes Zombie Slaying Look Fun Again

A freshly-announced title straight outta this year’s Gamescom expo in Germany, Lollipop Chainsaw actually looks like a blast. An insane, bloody, b-movie-esque blast. This actually makes perfect sense: James Gunn, director of Slither and Super is working on it, and that man knows how to deliver a fun experience in any medium. The game follows the exploits of an 18-year old zombie hunting cheerleader who spouts (hopefully not at every kill, or it’s going to get annoying fast) one-liners as she does so. All I know is, I haven’t actually wanted to play a zombie game in a long time due to their over-saturation in the market, but this looks like a lot of fun. Check out the debut trailer above.

Gamescom 2011: ‘Soul Calibur V’ Trailer

The Gamescom goodness keeps rolling in from Germany, and we’re going to keep sharing some choice bits with you. Above we have the trailer for Soul Calibur V, the latest in the Soul franchise. Set seventeen years after the events of Soul Calibur IV the title will focus on a character known as Patroklos, the son of Sophitia, and from the looks of this trailer it should bring the same high-octane weapon-based combat to the table. Check it out above.

Gamescom 2011: ‘DMC’ Gameplay Trailer

As you read this, the Gamescom expo is going on Germany. You know what that means: a buttload of awesome gameplay videos and trailers for upcoming titles. One such title is DMC, the reboot of the Devil May Cry franchise, that a lot of people were crying foul against. “They changed Dante drastically? NOOOOOOO!” etc., etc. However, I think this gameplay video may change their minds as it takes classic Devil May Cry action and ramps it up to 11. Check it out above.
